Oh baby, the Sundance Film Festival is upon us, and by us, I'm talking about the residents of Park City. It's not all and all a bad thing, but I have to tell you... it's draining.

It sucks that all of my favorite dive bars are transformed into posh, invite only, Hollywood bars-and believe me, I have spent enough time in bars that are, actually, in Hollywood to know how horrible they are.

There are way too many people in town that think they are important, that I couldn't give a shit about, but they insist I treat them like they are important - guess what? you're not.

On the flip side, there are way too many people asking about which famous people I've seen, hey I've seen a bunch but I'm not going to recant it for you, and I don't give shit anyways.

I have to walk to work, granted, I live about 3/4 of a mile from my work and usually walk, but navigating the streets is an absolute nightmare!

If I actually wanted to see a film, I couldn't get time off work = lame.

The vacation rental above my apartment is bound to inhabited by horrible, noisy party tourists that will keep me up at all hours of the day.

Perks:

One of my best friends from California is coming out here early next week, and I couldn't be happier to see him.

I get to laugh at silly girls falling on the sidewalks all over the city - trying to wear skirts and 5" inch heels in the snow on very large hill is a bad idea.

I think I've discovered the butthole of North America, and it's located smack dab on the state line straddling Utah and Nevada in a quaint little town called Wendover. Seriously, the weirdest place I have ever been and one of the weirdest places I can imagine seeing. Not only are there four trashy casinos, but it doesn't appear that anyone actually lives there. If I didn't know any better, I would think everyone that work in the casinos are ghosts that just appear everyday to indulge the needs of compulsive gamblers and alcoholics - believe me that there are both, and even worse, ghoulish sunken combinations of two.

After driving two hours to get out there, we could only stand to be there for about 45 minutes before heading back home. All in all it wasn't a complete waste. The one and only saving grace of our mini getaway was the chance to experience the Bonneville Salt Flats. After living in Utah for over 10 years, I have heard too much about them and I'd never gotten a chance to experience them first hand. Let me tell you, that it is stunning!

From its base at the jagged mountains to the humbling vastness, being there close to sun down will be a memory that will stick with me for some time. It was a fun day that was off the beaten track for me, and one that incited a dormant sense of adventure in me.

Oh an outfit note, I received these jeans in the mail last week and have rarely taken them off since. They are the most comfortable jeans I have ever worn- hands down. What better to wear for a day of adventure?

Oh, and I know that the man behind the camera rarely makes an appearance on this blog, but here is a quick little shot of him. Isn't he adorable?

A knitted pleated skirt is my go to piece this winter. There's something about a comfy cozy skirt paired with an over-sized sweater that always makes me feel like a million bucks. I still can't believe that it's the middle of December, and that there's only about three inches of snow on the ground - and that's being generous- but it snowed until June last year, so I'm bracing myself for a long delayed winter.

I have been a blessed girl this holiday season. Not only did I score this sweet skirt on ChicShop, but I cruised into Anthropology to score a marvelous present for my sister, and low and behold there was a sale. And yes, the anthropology sale section is, essentially, the only way I can shop there without a guilty conscience, but after being rung up at the register, and finding out that not only was the sale remarkable but it was an additional 50% off of the sale prices, I went back for seconds. The entire time I was standing in the line for the second time I was praying that the same girl wouldn’t ring me up (there were over 6 girls at the registers) and I was adamant about not being that girl - low and behold it was the same girl. I think I said something really clever like… “coming back for seconds”… yea, I’m not very good thinking on my feet.

Cashmere, oh how I love cashmere. The good people over at Enzo Mantovani sent me over the softest cashmere sweater and get this- the line is available at Costco through January 4th! I was in disbelief until I headed to the nearest costco to pick up some parmesean jalepeno artichoke dip-I'm kind of obsessed- and low and behold there was an entire display set up with both mens and womens styles and the prices can't be beat. So next time you are headed to costco for a 200 lb bag of pretzels or red vines I would highly suggest searching out the line. You won't regret it.

I have to say, Halloween isn't really my thing. I mean yes, there are usually parties to go to, and getting dressed up is always fun, but in exchange you have to deal with all of the drunken debauchery, douchey costumes and fight through the high expectations of the day: this is gonna be the best Halloween ever- it never is. I always find myself thinking "man,this was so much more fun when I was a kid", and low and behold this year, I actually got to experience it through children's eyes. It was my first year working on Main Street during the Halloween celebration, and believe me, it truly is a sight to see. They close down the entire street and thousands of children trick-or-treat up and down the street. To make it even more perfect, this is all followed by an oh so adorable dog parade. I was in charge of handing out candy to all of the children, and it was seriously a blast. It brought me back to what Halloween is all about: Seeing the smile on children's faces and how proud they are of their silly costumes and copious amounts of sugar.

Ok, so I have a thing for riding pants, probably thanks to my little sister who legitimately rides horses rocks the shit out of equestrian wear. Anyways, I headed down to SLC to go to her favorite equestrian wear store and my favorite secret spot to score vintage (cheaper) equestrian wear on a mission to score some super duper sweet riding pants.

The attic level of the store has racks and racks of gently used/worn/vintage/cheapo garments and is one of my favorite spots to score high waisted skin tight pants. After sifting through the racks of adult garments, I took a gander at the child section and the minute I saw these I knew they had to be mine! I mean how could they not, rust is one of my all time favorite colors and for $10 I knew it was an offer I couldn’t refuse.

I have to say, the best things about getting gifts in the mail is that 99% of the time I forget I'm supposed to receive something in the first place, and it's like a mini birthday. These pants are no exception. I mean, how sweet are they? The color is totally to die for and perfect or the season. Added perk - they are cords! Not many items of clothing scream fall more to me than a corduroy fabric. Now, if only I had a fireplace to curl up in front of.

I've been craving a dress like this for sometime now: long sleeves-check, high neck-check, pleated skirt-check, and cute little polka dots are just the icing on the cake. As you all know, I have been loving the monochromatic look for awhile now, and when sifting through my drawer to find a pair of tights I was over the moon to see these babies, they, literally, match perfectly!

My boyfriend and I have been using all of our spare time driving or hiking around observing the changing foliage- the reds and oranges this time of year are absolutely insane! In actuality, I should be posting more than driving around, but my work schedule has been so busy, that I'm taking every chance I can get to be lazy and have fun.

How amazing is this dress? The lovely people over at Stop Staring sent it to me, and the moment I slipped it on, I fell head over heels for it. I love the 50's charm that it puts out, and it fits like its tailored for me, oh and did I mention the perfect scalloped neckline? Otherwise, I am so excited that I'm getting to wear my favorite coat again. Unfortunately, I only get to pull out the "big gun" when the temperature is dropping, and its dropping fast up here in the mountains. One of my favorite parts of this weather is that it allows me to layer. Not only is it important for staying warm, but little doses, like this shirt under the dress, adds a bit more "style" to any outfit. The leaves are quickly changing to a gorgeous red, and I'm celebrating my first fall here in 8 years. Its going to be a beautiful season, and I can't wait to share it with you all.

I've been loving this top from the second I got in the mail. I have a thing for 50's collars, and couple that with a retro turquoise, and you have a recipe for a great suit. One of my favorite looks, right now, is a fun suit. Its a classy look that's very sharp and forward, but still exceedingly feminine. Its also a plus that it covers up the body to keep me warm, because the temperature is starting to drop fast around my neck of the woods. I constantly get asked what my favorite vintage find is and although I can't make a definitive decision these pants are definitely in my top 5. I mean the fit is perfect. Super high waist, cropped hem and the most amazing vintage blue that you have ever seen. Jeans like these will work with, almost, any top, and I feel like they can become an essential staple in anyone's wardrobe.

That aside, its been a crazy week for wind here in the mountains, and its been difficult to take photos for this little blog thing.. This location is one of my favorites, here, and its a beautiful little farm region where I can escape 5 miles from my house.

It has been a bit difficult to find ample time to shoot lately, and to boot, I’ve been getting so many cute things from people that I’ve been dying to post. This dress by Annie Greenabelle is an example. As you may have noticed, I have a thing for oversized bows. When I saw this dress, my heart melted, and even better, it’s a free-trade “ethical” garment. Now, I don’t know all of the details about what constitutes a free-trade garment, but if you’re into warm fuzzies, then this could be your next go-to brand and their vintage inspired garments are absolutely adorable!

The Long And Short Of It

Hello blogging world! I was going to apologize, AGAIN, for being a horrible blogger, but then I thought about it, and really, what’s the point? I have been living life to the fullest lately, and the computer is the last thing I was thinking about. I know all of you understand that.

In the past couple of weeks my sweet, loving, hilarious, hunk of a boyfriend turned the big 3-0! It was a milestone birthday, and I’m so proud of everything he is - my best friend, love of my life, #1 supporter and the photographer behind this beloved blog. I don’t know what I would be without him, and I love him to bits! Ok enough with the mushy stuff, I’ll move on. :)

I actually had a semi milestone birthday last week as well. I turned 25 on the 23rd of July! To be honest I still feel all of 21 years old, so it is a bit odd to officially be in my mid 20’s – eeeek! I feel like I need to grow up, but I guess being young at heart is always a good thing, right?

Also, this past week our good friend Paul Ku was in town staying at our apartment, visiting from CA for a dealer bike event held in Park City (what are the odds of that?). Anyways, we had a total blast. Drinks were abundant, conversation was on point and laughs were non-stop. It was so nice for someone from our old neck of the woods to come and hang out for a couple of days. It reminds me of how much I miss all of my buddies back in CA. Hopefully, we’ll get more visitors soon (hint, hint)!

Now onto this outfit, it has been hot hot hot here in Utah lately, and I couldn’t resist slipping on my favorite cropped top and super high-waisted shorts, today. The perfect combination to beat the heat! I seriously have an entire dresser drawer filled with jean shorts, and the higher the waist the better. They are always my go-to for relaxed summer days. And what better way to show off these shorts than a billowing cropped top? Yes, I am wearing these shoes again. I actually have a pretty large collection of shoes due to the three years I worked at a shoe store, but I always gravitate to these bad boys. They seriously go with everything and are so comfortable!

If you’ve ever been to Park City, you’ll be familiar with the backdrop of this photo. What you see behind me is the infamous white barn. That sweet American flag is posted for the entire summer, and it’s absolutely beautiful. It’s basically the unofficial welcome sign to park city, my bike route for the farmer’s market and I couldn’t think of a better symbol to represent the juxtaposition of the historical and the modern in the city I live in.

Two post in three days - are you proud of me? Anyways, I took advantage of the nice weather to take a drive up a road that is only open during the summer months (all four of them!). Guardsmen Pass goes up to almost 10k feet, and I’ll tell you that the views are stunning. There are mountains, rivers, forests, squirrels and teepees! One thing that stinks is the insane wind at the highest elevation point where we took these photos. All of that aside, I wore my new Charlie's Back jeans from Denimfactoria for the first time, and I’m loving the fit. The flare in these pants inspired a bit of “hippy chic” in me, and I have to say that it was a comfortable look for the peak of summer.

New Beginnings

On my, I have been a busy bee this past week. First of all, I finally moved into a new apartment! Since moving back to Utah, my boyfriend and I have been living at my parents house trying to lay down some roots before making the move to an apartment of our own. Well, this week the clouds parted, the sun shined down on us and we found the perfect place. It's two blocks away from Main Street in Park City, and is equipped with a huge backyard that includes a bocce ball court! And for those of you who don't know, I have a odd obsession with the art of bocce.

It's so nice to sit here in my cozy new place and be surrounded by all of my cherished possessions that have been cooped up in a storage unit for the past seven months. I finally feel at ease again. To add to the excitement, I finally have my entire closet back! Which is where I discovered this little sweater which I had almost entirely forgotten about - I love the missoni-esque knit and rich color combination. Cropped tops are my current obsession, but in order to balance the silhouette, you have to cover up a bit somewhere & this sweater was the perfect choice.

I can't wait to share pictures of my apartment with you all, but until then, these photos show off a bit of the backyard.

Farmers Market

So, this outfit isn't anything special, but I wanted to share these photos with you because, after talking about it for a couple of week,s my boyfriend and I finally got a day off together and rode to the farmer's market! One of the amazing things about Park City is the extensive trail system that runs throughout the city. Not only can you get, basically, anywhere in the city on a bike without dealing with busy streets, but some of the trails are just stunning! Like the photo below - it's a beaver dam. I'm kind of disappointed that we didn't spot and of the cute little buggers, but hopefully I will at some point this summer.

I can't believe I haven't posted in almost a week! I've basically been running around like a mad women, and I haven't had enough time for my posts. To add to this schedule, the weather has been simply gorgeous, and this hasn't helped to motivate me to sit in front of the computer. On that note, in the quest of some shade, I found myself shooting these in a historic graveyard. Most of the people buried here died in the 1800's, and were among the founding families of Park City. The graves nearest these photos were of a family plot that had grave misfortune - kind of sad reading the timeline on the tombstones. Surprisingly, however, this graveyard is a beautiful, cheery and quiet place to be on a nice day. Now, its off to work into the dead hours of the night (pun intended).

Take me to, funky town...

I'm coming down off a serious shopping high! I had one amazing experience at a very unlikely thrift mart yesterday...three words: NEW OLD STOCK! I love finding vintage with the original tags, and the store I went to had around 3 of everything that I wanted. Coming down from such and excursion can be trying, and with our first peek into upper 80 degree weather, its hard to contain myself. So, I went to the park to find some shade, and take some photos. Now, if only I can shake these allergies, life will be perfect. Hope that you're all having a good week - stay cool!

I've been a bit bored with my closet, lately. So, I decided to snazz up one of my all time favorite trapeze dresses with a little alteration to allow for a belt. A snip here, a snip there and voila- a completely new silhouette! I love the way that it flows now, and it gave me enough spark to be satisfied with the dress for a while longer. Outside of this, I've been pretty busy with little projects, and I've been busy loving this warm weather. Now all I need is for the estate sale season to start up again *fingers crossed*.

Summer, Here I Come!

The weather has been great this week - shorts, tanks and large brimmed hats! On top of that, I've been hangin' with the old timers at my new job, and the local farmer's markets have been producing tasty dinners every night. So with all of this cheer, and an added rush with snow in the forecast tomorrow, why not stroll around the lovely aspen groves? I would have liked to walk a little further into the forest, but with all of the snow comes swollen streams & flooded trails. I can't wait to get out there, as my mom bought me some new hiking shoes. Summer, here we come!

This sweater is one of my most treasured vintage finds ever! The thrifting gods were definitely shining down on me with this one. And to make things even better, I stumbled on the perfect pair of matching shorts on the same trip. This outfit is definitely one of those examples of clothing speaking to me. It practically put itself together! It pains me to part with but I decided to get some use out of it before listing it on my Etsy site. Which by the way has a couple new listings as of yesterday.

Anyways, these were snapped on my way to the library. Getting a library card was one of the best things I've done since moving back home. I am such a bookworm, and the fact that I go through books so quickly, a well-stocked library is a god's send.

Its been a beautiful weekend, here in the mountains, and a pretty great week in general. Between starting a new job, baseball games, birthdays and Chinese food; the weather has just been icing on the cake. Wildflowers are starting to bloom here, so the boyfriend and I decided to drive through some state parks to check them out. Along the way, we stopped in this aspen forest by my house to snap some pics.

I was feeling incredibly uninspired today, but finding that one right item can spark the whole outfit off and in this case it was my "creepy deer" bolo (what my boyfriend calls it, and he has an equally creepy bull one). I mean come on, how can this little fellow not be a source of inspiration?

The streak of good luck is continuing today, but the weather has been quite formidable. Currently, we're getting wind speeds well into the double digits, and it looks like a thunderstorm is rolling in. However, its my little sister Stephanie (AKA pupper's) birthday, and she's turning the big TWO TWO! I still can't believe that my little sister is heading into her mid 20's. It's days like these when life really does seem to fly by. We snapped these photos while heading to lunch on main street and it was so yummy. Currently, I'm being nagged to hurry up and go outside to play horseshoes with the fam bam. So I'll keep this short and sweet.

Rain Sleet or Shine

In an attempt to escape the grueling winter, and the boredom attached, my boyfriend and I decided to take a drive South. The day started off gorgeous, and the late spring has blossomed into wildflower season on the open ranges. The goal was Strawberry Reservoir in the Uinta National Forest - around 50 miles out. Along the way, we drove through farm country and saw all the baby animals frolicking in the fields. Horses, cows, goats and sheep are some the main attractions. We were living it up, but little did we know that a hellish snow was waiting for us at the reservoir.

So, this is the Strawberry Reservoir just past Daniel's Summit around 8250' elevation. This was the first vantage point of the water, so we pulled over immediately. Good thing too, because the wind was fierce, the air was murky with billowing storm clouds and around two minutes after we left, a crazy hurricane of snow stirred up. This is just an example of how crazy our season has been here. Our snow in the mountains has yet to melt, and the floods and mud are already starting. I don't think that we're going to have a true summer until July or August. In the meantime, I'll keep rambling around the state chasing the sunshine.

Snow Snow Go Away

These photos were taken this morning, THIS MORNING! I woke up to three more inches of snow on the ground and it doesn't seem like it's going to let up anytime soon. Of course the year I move back to Utah from sunny California is one of the worst winters on record. Geeze Leweez!

On the bright side, this weather has enabled me to wear these fabulous coats I picked up this week. I have such a weakness for a good coat, that no matter the season, I will snatch them up without a second thought. This geometric silk coat was found at an estate sale I went to this weekend and it was epic. So may dresses from the 1920's-1960's - I was in heaven. Although, there were a couple of gorgeous dressed from the 1920s that were stunning, but had one too many stains on them to justify a purchase...probably one of the worst feelings ever. I knew I had to leave them, but they were so beautiful, I actually dreamed of one last night. SIGH.

Behold our impromptu photoshoot at the storage unit. It was so darn windy today I wasn't sure I'd be able to shoot this outfit, but while rummaging through the storage unit I had a the idea of taking pictures while hiding behind the safety of the units. And it worked out surprisingly well!

I actually posted these shorts on my etsy store yesterday, but I'm kind of in love with them so who knows how long they will stay up for sale :). And I threw on my boyfriend's sweet wrangler button up while rushing out the house and was surprised how well it actually went with the outfit. Sometimes the best looks are created when no thought is put into it!

Oh man, I woke up this morning to MORE SNOW! So, in spite of Mother Nature's wishes, I decided to put on the brightest pieces I have in my wardrobe- so there, Mother Nature. Blogger deleted my last couple of posts, so I will make an attempt to rewrite them - starting here. I received this skirt from the good people over at Shop Ruche and I was elated to find that its so cute in person. As you all know, I am a sucker for both pleating and polka dots and this skirt has both. Lucky me!

Outside of all this recanting, I noticed that a lot of people are pissed about Blogger being down. I, however, think that it was a great thing, and that it hopefully gave people a chance to step away from their computers & live a little bit. I just got back from a big hike in the mountains and it was beautiful.

I mean seriously, there aren't many things that make me feel more badass than a super snazzy bolo. The amazing people over at Nine West sent me these adorable Espadrilles which are part of their new summer Espadrille Collection. Let me tell you that they are amazing! I mean sky high, super comfy and the color goes with everything. When I pulled these out of the box, I was inspired to put on my most summery outfit and prance around in the yard. This works out, because its a toasty 46 degrees today = the closest I've been to summer in five months. The weather has just been crazy, lately. You guys might remember that my last post was in a heavy fur coat, and now I'm dressed for the beach.

I wish that these shoes would work out for hiking, because I intend on stretching out the late sunsets to hit the trails.

My mom, Style Icon

"Mooommm, I don't wanna wear matching outfits!" This was the recurring theme of my childhood. If you had told me that my mom had style I would have laughed and told you that you're crazy. When I was contacted by Piper Weiss, (the Author My Mom Style Icon and of one of my favorite blogs) to do a post about my mom's style; I was skeptical to say the least.

So, I pulled out my mom's old photo albums, and began my journey into the past. I was surprised that my experience was so absolutely mind blowing. Who would have known that she was an original hipster, or that she was the proud owner of the perfect summer dress? Not only was her style inspiring, but the stories behind the photographs were so entertaining to listen to! As we headed further and further into the past, I was also ecstatic to see amazing photographs of my Grandma and Great Grandma. My Mom's extensive catalog of family history was like a visual story unfolding before me. It was such an amazing experience, I wish that I had done it sooner! I would suggest to all of you to participate in the experience, because it truely was a special one.

Merry Easter... or something like that

I hope you are all having a fabulous day. I spent my morning at church...7:30 call time - but since I'm what they call a Cheaster (only go to church on Christmas and Easter) I really can't complain. Afterwards, I returned home for the big Easter Egg hunt! Yea, I'm 24 and still participate in an Easter Egg Hunt, and I absolutely love it. In fact, I love it even more now that the Easter Bunny only puts money in the eggs - he's such a smarty pants. How does he know me so well? To tell you the truth I would throw a huge hissy fit if I woke up on Easter morning and didn't get a hunt, I obviously still act like a toddler when it comes to traditions like this. Anyways, at the moment I'm just sitting around with the fam bam waiting for our Easter feast to be ready, and I thought that I'd throw in a picture with my sisters and I. Sometimes I swear that my mom was spending some extra time with the milk man, or something, because we look nothing alike.

Also, I figured that this is the perfect opportunity for me to show off the amazing headband, one of my absolute favorite bloggers, Nichole from Gary Pepper Vintage sent me. I felt like a little girl again prancing around in my fancy dress and pretty headband!

Sweet Suit

Hello Blogosphere! I've been due for a new outfit post for some time now but my little adventures have been getting in the way. The day after my Wyoming adventure my BF and I headed up to northern Utah to explore the Cache National Forest and we ended up in Idaho on accident. Yes you read that right, it was literally like... holy shit we're in Idaho? And better yet, it was the town where Napolean Dinamite was filmed (yes it's as bleak and boring as it seems in the movie.)

Anyways, now I'm back in action and wearing my absolute favorite suit. I purchased this baby awhile ago, but the pants were way too short for me to wear. So after months of staring at it in my closet I finally hemmed the pants into shorts and I love how it turned out!

Fossil Butt Adventure

"Um I don't know, wanna go to Wyoming?"

And with that, we set off on our adventure. Now, Wyoming - particularly Evanston which is right on the border, and like all good border towns, sells all of a deprived state's vices like firework liquor store combos at an alarming rate. However, like many, beyond the instant infatuation with explosions there is little else to do, and the seediness of strip clubs quickly seeps in. So we kept driving through with no plans at all; that is until we passed a sign stating that Fossil Butte National Monument was up ahead. Now, it wasn't really that we were interested in Fossil Butte, but it was as good a destination as any. Before we knew it we were heading off of the highway onto a two lane road heading 50 miles north.

Along the way we passed Skull Point Road, and the absurdity of the name itself was enough for us to turn onto the small dirt road. This is where we found the abandoned train in the pictures above, and let me tell you, I never in my life would have thought that train cars were actually that big! I actually needed a boost to get into the box car. Did I mention that it was WINDY!!! I mean, hold my hat, steady my steps, try not to blow over windy. After a short exploration for my bf to find hobo graffiti, we were on our way.

As we were approaching our destination another hokey tourist trap caught our eye. The J.C. Penny Mother Store and Museum was coming up in two miles. Um what? We're in the middle of BFE and they claim to have the world's first JC Penney? That's just too weird not to witness so we pulled off and headed towards a little gem of a town named Kemmerer/Diamondville. And sure enough, the first JC Penney store was located in this obscure town known to the rest of the world as the Fish Fossil capital of the world, and that is a direct quote from the old timer at the Antique/Fish Fossil store we wandered into. (I was very skeptical and actually looked this JC Penney claim up on wikipedia and sure enough:

James Cash Penney began his career in retail management when he opened The JCP Store, a partnership with Guy Johnson and Thomas Callahan, in 1902 in Kemmerer, Wyoming

They weren't kidding! I do have to say Kemmerer had the most amazing old timey signs scattered throughout the town.

Our next destination was the allusive Fossil Butte National Monument!!! I was so hyped up on this weird national treasure that when we happened upon it my heart dropped. This stupid wooden sign is it. Seriously? Why would you even bother to advertise this piece of junk on the highway??

Afterwards, we turned back and headed for home. Apparently, 4:30pm is the time where deer come out to play - as we saw around 20 different herds along the roadside. This was good, because we were both getting distraught that we saw 13 dead dear along the road in under 1 mile (I hate that part of rural roads). The rest of the drive graced us with Utah's famous red rock formations, sheep and sore throats from laughing at our very mature pronunciations of Fossil Butte and Kemmerer (Fossil Butt and Kemmer-er-er-er).

All in all, today was a good day, and a fine example of living on a whim with a dash of care-free abandon. Hope that you're all having a great weekend.

And since my money tree has caught some sort of an illness, I headed straight for the sale section and discovered this adorable flouncy dress. I couldn't have been more exited to receive this skirt from Virtue or Vanity in the mail yesterday. Not only was the packaging out absolutely adorable, but the print had me smiling all day. I couldn't wait to show it off to all of you today!

Nope, you're eyes are not deceiving you it's SNOWING AGAIN! I swear this winter is never going to end. So here is a little note for mother nature from yours truely:

Dear Mrs. Nature,

Can you please make up your mind, I'm afraid you are going a bit insane.

You can't get my hopes up with 70 degree days and then decide to do a

complete 180 and snow the next day! I even cut three pairs of pants into

shorts in anticipation of spring and then I wake up to this???

I'm starting to think you are holding some sort of grudge against me

and believe me, if I did something wrong, I'm sorry. Or maybe Mr. Nature

is getting on your nerves? At any rate, I think you should start dabbling in

yoga to clear your mind and let the sunshine in.

First of all, I have to give a shout out to one of my fest friends Lauren for sending me this adorable dress!

And I am going to give her website a shameless plug because, well I can, and she is amazing.

bad mamajama.

On another note, I'm so exited about this hat! I've been searching for a flat top/flat brim hat for months now. When I was perusing etsy the other day I finally found one, and it was in my size, and it's in perfect condition, and it has a chin strap for windy days (I believe I WOOOOOO'd aloud). I'm pretty sure it was a miracle courtesy of the fashion gods and for that, I am eternally thankful.

Switching it Up

I fished this little dress out of the depths of my closet today and had completely forgotten about it.

How is that possible, when this dress so darn cute? I guess that just demonstrates how forgetful I truly am ,

or how jam packed my closet is- in reality it's probably a combination of the two.

This outfit is all about the layering. I'm so sick of wearing jackets everyday

(spring hasn't graced Park City with it's presents yet)

so I decided to layer over my jacket today and am so pleased with the result,

I can't believe I haven't done it sooner!

Yes, I know it's this hat again. I've been searching far and wide for hats this shape but have yet to find any, so I incorporate this one into as many looks as I can. I own over fifty hats, but something about the flat top and wide brim has me running to this particular hat every time I need to complete a look. A hat is such a great way to give a simple outfit that little something that takes it from a simple laid back look to a snazzy fashion forward look in an instant.

Oh another subject, I have a question for all of you. I have been debating adding a How to get this look section to each post. Since 90% of my outfits are comprised of vintage clothing I think it would be nice to show you all how to get the look using modern brands. What do you think?

The Boyfriend Jean

The good people at True Religion sent over these jeans to test out their new vintage-inspired line of denim, and I am pleasantly surprised. They are so soft and comfy. Boyfriend style jeans are a great option for lazy days, no tugging or pulling, just let them sag and you're good. But be sure to pair this style of jean with a fitted top or blazer like I did here, so that your still showing off a bit of your girly figure.

I hope you are all having a wonderful week. Mine has been full of long walks, reflection, and a bit of thrift shopping thrown in there. A girl can't ask for anything more.

In my opinion every girl needs a trusty jean jacket in their wardrobe.Whether paired with a tea

length skirt (as seen here) or thrown over jean shorts and a vintage tee, it ads an air of

"oh yea this little thing, I just threw it on" to any outfit!

Also, my new thing is incorporating different hues of the same color into an outfit

- navy/light blue, pink/maroon, lavender/deep purple, or for the faint of heart start with black/grey.

It's such a fun way to play with color, and will be especially beautiful with the bright colors we will be

wearing in the upcoming months!

Casual Sunday

Other than jeans and a sweater that's three sizes too big,

this is my go to combination for comfort- a silky shirt and oversized trousers.

I read people's comments about how they wish they could wear trousers and make

them flattering, and I'll let you all in on a little secret (are you ready for this?)

- it's all about the shoes. When paired with sky-high heels trousers are absolutely

flattering, and in my opinion, just as comfortable as sweat pants.

Playing Along

There will be no pinching today, because, obviously, I'm wearing green!

I don't quite understand St. Patrick's Day, as many of my international viewers,

probably don't either, but I'm Scotch-Irish so I play along a bit.

Aside from that, I had to rush these photo today, because its freakin' freezing!

Now, I need a good day of relaxing, and then its straight to business. Hope you

all keep the bars under control tonight, and remember, Irish car bombs can break

your teeth & are kind of gross anyhow.
