I woke up to the pitter pattering of rain this morning, and I couldn't be more exited. Considering the fact that I'm not feeling so hot today, the weather fits my mood perfectly. My only plans today include reading, tea, naps, and soup. Hopefully a day of rest will cure this little bug I seem to have caught.

I love this outfit today, but I'm not a huge fan of the background for the photos.  I was supposed to shoot in front of my, usual, Airstream bus, but there was a delivery truck blocking the way.  So, instead of getting to shoot great photos, I got a crowd of skeezy dudes straining their necks to see what I was doing 20 yards away.

I also decided to break out the old briefcase today, but alas, the strap is broken. Ugh.  So I was forced to carry it the old fashioned way all day.  Life is tough.

Today has been a day of weighting in lines.  I waited for 2 hours at the doctor.  I waited for half an hour at the cable company.  I waited in line for lunch - on and on and on.  Lucky for me, I had a really comfy sweater, and my boyfriend to keep me company.

  I love the little house that we shot outside of today - they have the greatest fence with snails & kitty cats.  The neighbor was weird, though.  She was walking through the shot with two huge bags of Coco's.  For those of you outside of CA, Coco's is the hotspot for the over 70 crowd, and this lady had a hankerin' for some rhubarb pie at 3 in the afternoon.

Suit Part II

So, today is a fun one for many reasons. For one, I'm getting full use from a suit that I bought this week - these are the pants from the suit jack that I wore the other day - and its so rare to find a suit in my size where both parts work for me! Second, I'm working a half-day today. Why a half-day? Because I'm going to a weiner-dog race in celebration of Oktoberfest! My friend called me last week to tell me that he's entering his fat little dachshund in, what is bound to be, one of the cutest events in world. I hope that everyone's weekend is going well. I'll be sure to take some photos of Cash going for the gold!

Classy

I bought this jacket at the Salvation Army this week, and it was a double score! It was part of a suit, and the pants fit me better than the jacket does. This is nice in itself, let alone the $3.00 price tag. 

Additionally, its been feeling like Fall, recently, and its almost time to bust out all of the Winter coats that I've been compiling since Spring. Soooo clooosseee! I hope that you're all geared up for a great weekend. I need to take a trip soon, but have too much going on. Any thoughts on daytrips in the SoCal region?

I was once again featured on Who What Wear's Style Stalker, which is always such an honor. Although, if you follow Who What Wear you will notice in the bio they mention that I live Manhattan Beach. And as you all know, I actually live in Newport Beach, thank you very much!

Sweater:Thirfted Blouse: Thrifted Skirt: Vintage Shoes: Chinese Laundry

This is the outfit that I wore to a nice little soiree hosted by Stylit about a week ago. This sweater has turned into one of my favorites, lately, but its snagging on my bracelets like crazy, and is ripping at a frantic pace.

So, last Wednesday, I went to a preview party for Sylit. Stylit is a personal fashion planner for the professional or normal girl that loves to dress up. There's room for seasonal inspirations, personal outfit planning and wishlists! There are little mannequins to draw your outfit ideas on, too. The party was hosted by, stylist, Beth Jones, and there were a whole host of other bloggers there to share in the experience.

I have to say that it was nice to finally meet some other people, in person, that share in the same way of thinking as me. I can also attest to the food/ wine spread being pretty nice, as my boyfriend was the only guy there, and spent most of the night hovering around the cheese, glass of sparkling wine in hand, while the rest of us girls were compiling our inspirations for our books. On top of all that, there was a swag bag, and as a lover of all things free, it was a thrill to see the items put in. A big thank you to QuickSilver, Mars Studio, Posh Paperie, Sweet & Saucy Shop, Oh Yeah Make Me and Quail Studios for hosting the event. I had a great time at the party, and I know that I'll be using my Stylit frequently in the future!

Rain Rain Rain

I managed to sneak these photos in before the rain started, today. My boyfriend says that the outfit looks "classy", but I think that its classic. This skirt is one of my favorite thrift finds, and not because its Gucci, but because I love the material & the print. There is so much detail in the print, and it jumped off the rack at me. In fact, it took a week for my BF to realize that it was "designer". This little cardigan is so soft and nice, too. Overall, its a great mix of spring and fall, and a nice way to welcome in the new season with the rain.

I hope that you all had a great weekend - mine starts tomorrow, but I'm going to be apartment hunting. Anyone have a connection on Balboa Island?
