Mom Jeans

Shorts: Goodwill Jacket: Random Thrift T: Nordstroms

Mom jeans always look good when cut into shorts. Case in point; these were the most horrific mom jeans you could imagine. Think Denim MC Hammer pants with an exaggerated taper and front pleating. Now let that marinate for a minute. It's worse than what you're imagining. But look how adorable they look as shorts! All I had to do it get out my favorite pair of fabric scissors- cut, cuff, and iron. And voila! You have created the perfect pair of pleated shorts!

That was one of the most evocative descriptions of Mom jeans I have ever read. And the shorts are so cute! There is a little good in everything, I guess!

Cool blazer! Those mom shorts are adorable! Too bad the ones I cut into shorts last summer didn't turn out as well as those - the butt was still droopy :( Must try again this summer!

Mom jeans?! What a transformation! I love the 5th picture especially for the sole reason that the blazer is so amazingly drapey! This is a great look topped off nicely with the sock. <3

You pull those off sooooo.... much better than my mom!!! hehehe... She would most def wear her crazy mom jeans with something weird like a matching jean jacket. But she's my mom, so I still love her.

Between you and Leslie Hall, I'll be wearing mom jean-shorts and ugly sweaters in no time! You of course look friggin' adorable, and make me wanna wear MOM jeans! I love the blazer too, the strong graphic looks almost like gingham.

I suspect you could make a a garbage bag look chic. And make me want to wear one too.

You wear those shorts so well.

I supersuper love that blazer and the way you matched it with the hat. The headwear gives the outfit an entirely different vibe, more cute than business, and it works so well.

And since this post is mainly about your cutoff shorts, I have to say than when I was filing through your archives, I kept noticing shorts popping up, and I loved it. With spring on the way, I thought the pairing of cutoffs with a button-down or sweater seemed absolutely brilliant, and probably is what pushed your blog to my high on my favorites.
Everything you wear is lovely and just seems to do-able.

And thanks for the comment you left on my blog several days ago. It made me smile.

ha! i had some jordache mom jeans in my shop when i first opened it...i was hoping someone would see the potential in making them into great shorts, but it took awhile! i had to mark them down significantly before a girl finally took the plunge! i wonder what she did with them...hmmmm... i truly hope she's not wearning them "as is". ;)
