too bright

shirt: Magazine sweater: silence and noise shorts: swellegant

This is my take on a preppy. I really like the look of button down shirts buttoned all of the way to the top. It gives the shirt a much more masculine feel, and shoes off the pattern brilliantly. Also, these are shorts, not a skirt. They are my favorite pair of shorts I own, but if I don't get them hemmed quickly they are going to fall apart. I really need to learn how to sew, using scissors on clothing is never a good idea, yet I can't help myself. I guess I'm a sucker for instant gratification.

My weekend starts tomorrow and I can't wait. I have compiled the best and worst of NYFW and plan on posting everything on one of my days off. And let me tell you there were a couple of majorly successful collections along with some EPIC FAILS. To be honest most of the collections I viewed were just ok, nothing innovative or exiting, just clothes. I was a bit disappointed actually. I guess I was expecting too much, I always hype myself up for fashion week, and rarely does it meet my expectations. Although, I do admire, and appreciate the craft that goes into each collection reguardless of my feelings towards it. These are just my thoughts and preferences aesthetically.

Lovely! So cute and preppy indeed. I love buttoning the shirt up to the top! Nice hat! How many hats do you own? Where do you get them? Oh good question for the interview!!!

LOVE this outfit. Everything about it is just so right. The hat tops it all off nicely too. I think you've perfectly summed up my feelings about NYFW - "just ok, nothing innovative or exciting, just clothes"

Red hat is amazing! I love the colors in your outfit-- the stripes are a good touch of pattern and the shoes are a lovely color, especially with the socks!

first: you look absolutely amazing, as always. second: i have a thing with instant gratification too and the scissors are my best friend. it is rare that i use my sewing machine (which is in the box). really?!
