Dress Vintage

For today's photos, I decided to go to, what is normally, a great relaxing spot - Pirate's Cove. Yes, that is its real name, and the enveloping sandstone cliffs are phenomenal. However, the operative words are normally a great spot, because in the summer, its overwrought with overweight tourists swimming in their t-shirts. There was trash everywhere, and beer cans strew about as a lasting remnant of the 4th. Thus, my boyfriend and I opted to shoot from well above the cove on the cliffs. This was off of a somewhat secret trail, and the pocket view through the rocks was quite nice. As you can see, it’s a nice little drop down to the bottom, but regardless, these cliffs are a popular free-climb spot for the adventurous. This little dress moved really well with the wind, and I really love the prints and the pleating.

  14. The shots of you looking down into the cove are stunning! Great location for pictures; too bad people don't know how to clean up after themselves. I go to the beach very often and am disgusted with the way people litter. I also sympathized with your recent rant on the 4th of July...though there is an abundance of jackasses on this planet, it seems they are particularly bad on summer holidays.

  15. Love the dress. So beautiful. Where in CA is Pirate's Cove? Is it sunny up there -- definitely not sunny here is "Sunny San Diego!"

  19. Haha, hilarious what you said about "beautiful Newport!" I was telling a visiting friend about "June Gloom," and she reminded me that it was now mid-July. Right ... also it's funny when you're trying to do a summer post, and there's no sun. I feel like we live in England! And yeah, Etsy store definitely time-consuming. I have a job that leaves me a lot of time in the summer though. Fingers crossed that all will go well!

  20. Yow, dude.

That dress is incredible. It totally reminds me of those super delicate fans that we (or I, anyway) would have as a child. I feel like they typically came from a very fancy place like the arcade at the mall. For like 4 tickets. But I love it, and it looks amazing on you.

Sorry about the fat assholes trashin' up your cove. Tourists.

  23. it enrages me that people completely destroy our beautiful beaches... it's so selfish. i hate finding trash when there are dumpsters and garbage cans everywhere! you would think watching the gulf coast be destroyed by oil would make people a little more aware about preserving our environment... ugh.

that dress is so gorgeous! you look lovely as always, dear. :)
